BAS Lodgement
Managing Business Activity Statement (BAS) can be stressful and complicated. BAS is a tax reporting obligation for businesses in Australia issued by the ATO. It summarizes the taxes paid or need to be paid during a specific period. The amount and type of taxes vary depending on the size, location, and benefits offered by the company. There are mandatory and additional taxes, such as GST, FBT, PAYG income tax, tax withheld, fuel tax credits, and LCT.
Registered businesses need to lodge their BAS every month, quarter or year based on ATO’s determination. There are strict deadlines, and penalties apply if you lodge it late. It is beneficial to have an expert to manage your BAS lodgements to avoid any inaccuracies or delays.
Monthly BAS is for businesses with a GST turnover of over $20 million, quarterly BAS is generally for businesses with a GST turnover less than $20 million, and annual lodgement is for those voluntarily registered for GST and turnover is under $75,000 (or $150,000 for not-for-profit bodies).
No matter which lodgement circle you are in and how many types of taxes you are to report, contact us at JTCA to relieve the stress and avoid any penalties related to BAS lodgements.
